OK, Maybe we are jumping the gun here, but this is one to watch. Verizon announced late last year that by the end of 2008, it will open its network to any application and any device (that meets their technical standards...). Time will tell how or if this will transform one of the more closed business models in recent history. Think about the leaps in innovation Facebook made when it opened its api to developers. There are plenty of roadblocks Verizon can throw at this, but let's keep our eye on this one.
